Real Estate Associate

About the Role
I’m working with a large, well-established law firm in the US (they are open to several locations across the US) that is continuing to grow its real estate practice and is looking to add a Real Estate Associate to the team.
The group handles a broad mix of work, including real estate finance, development, acquisitions and dispositions, and leasing across retail, industrial, and office assets, alongside other general real estate matters. One of the real strengths of this team is flexibility, associates are encouraged to shape their practice, whether that means focusing more heavily on finance, leasing, or maintaining a broader mix.
A few things that really stand out about this opportunity:
-
Culture: Very Midwestern in feel, open, friendly, down-to-earth, and genuinely collaborative
-
Progression: Strong and realistic partnership track, with many associates who stay on ultimately making partner
-
Leadership: The practice chair is deeply invested in associate development and generally assumes associates are working toward partnership unless they say otherwise
-
Client Exposure: Associates are involved in pitches and get meaningful client exposure early on
-
Alternative Career Paths: Clear and supported options for those not pursuing partnership, including Of Counsel and Staff Attorney routes
-
Training & Development: Excellent training and mentoring, with consistently positive feedback from the market
-
Billables & Work-Life Balance: Around 1,800 hours, combined with a supportive and understanding culture — many in the group have young families
-
Flexibility: Typically around two days a week in the office, with flexibility depending on circumstances
This is a great option for someone looking for high-quality real estate work, strong long-term prospects, and a genuinely balanced and supportive environment.
